Ando Media (now Triton Digital) Merges with Spacial
Spacial and Ando Media announce a merger to help accelerate the development of the streaming audio marketplace.
Dallas, TX, August 12, 2009 – Spacial and Ando Media announced today a merger that will help accelerate the development of the streaming audio marketplace. Ando Media, working with over 6,500 affiliates, is the leader in audience measurement and ad-replacement for terrestrial broadcasters. Spacial has been the leader in providing automation, ad insertion and an array of other digital services primarily to pure-play webcasters. The joining of these two innovative companies will provide increased momentum to the rapidly expanding online audio marketplace.
“This merger brings together the strength of Ando’s more terrestrial customer base with Spacial’s large Internet-only base,” said Bob Maccini, Ando Media’s CEO. “Together, we are working across the entire spectrum to drive the streaming audio category to new levels.” Spacial CTO and co-founder Louis Louw says, “We’ve been marching down a remarkably similar path to Ando, but our customers are not the same. That’s why this works so well. The merger adds value to us both. The complementary nature of our technologies will allow each company to expand its capabilities to our established customer bases.”
Both brands will continue to operate independently while the companies are deeply engaged in strategic planning to optimize resources and offerings as a merged entity.
Update: Ando Media and Spacial have since been acquired by Triton Digital.
