Geo-blocking brings a host of benefits, including the following:

• This feature enables radio broadcasters to have complete control over who is listening to their radio station.
  
• By targeting a specific audience, broadcasters can tailor their content based on where the listeners are located, making the content more relevant and engaging. 
  
• With SAM Broadcaster Cloud, you can have multiple stations each targeting different countries whilst taking advantage of the shared cloud library for music tracks, playlists, jingles and sweeps. The shared cloud library enables you to use one music library across all your stations, saving you upload time as a track is uploaded once and data. Playlists, jingles and sweeps can also be shared amongst the stations.
  
• This feature ensures that radio broadcasters are legally compliant within their jurisdictions as countries have different broadcasting regulations on where you can broadcast. Additionally, the content you broadcast can also be subject to geographical rights restrictions, for example, sports broadcasting.
  
• For broadcasters who run ads on their stations, location-based advertising is more efficient and effective, as it’s more personalised, making the content more relevant.

How to Use The SAM Cloud Geo-Blocking Feature

Please follow these easy steps to activate the geo-blocking feature within SAM Broadcaster Cloud: 

1. Login to your SAM Broadcaster Cloud account. If you have not signed up for one yet, take advantage of this limited-time 30% OFF discount
2. Select the station that you wish to activate geo-blocking for 
3. On the left side navigation, select Settings, then Geo-blocking 
4. Now select the countries you wish to target or block from listening to your station by following further instructions below:
   

How to Allow Listening for Specific Countries 

Follow these four simple steps below to allow listeners to tune in from specific countries:

1. Select the Allow option from the drop-down
2. Select the Country you wish to allow to tune into your radio station from the drop-down option, and click Save
3. To select multiple locations, choose one country at a time and click on Add, until you have added all the targeted locations.
   Note: As you select the locations, the area(s) will be highlighted on the map

4. Once you have selected all of your desired location, click Save and select the Enable option
   

How to Block Listening from Specific Countries 

Follow these four simple steps below to block listeners from tuning into your radio station from specific countries:

1. Select the Disallow option from the drop-down
2. Select the Country which you wish to block from tuning in to your station from the drop-down option, and then click Save
3. To select multiple locations, you need to choose one country at a time and click on add, until you have added all the targeted locations you wish to exclude
   Note: As you select the locations, the area(s) will be highlighted on the map

4. Once done, click Save and select the Enable option 

How to Deactivate the Geo-Blocking Feature

To turn off the geo-blocking feature, you can do the following:

• To remove all countries from the allow or disallow list, click on Delete All Rules
• To remove a specific country from the allow or disallow list, click the X next to the selected country, and then click Ok to confirm
  

Important Points to Note:

• When specific countries are blocked, all the other countries are allowed, and when specific countries are allowed, all the other countries will be blocked
• If a listener from a blocked country tries to tune into your radio station, a notification message will show on the stream indicating that they are not allowed to tune in from their location
